La 35ª edizione dei Buil Film Awards si terrà il prossimo 7 ottobre alle 16:30 KST presso il Signiel Busan Grand Ballroom, a Haeundae, Busan.
La cerimonia sarà preceduta da eventi dedicati al pubblico, tra cui il red carpet, le interviste backstage e la diretta della premiazione. Anche l’Open Talk con il vincitore dello Star of the Year sarà trasmesso in streaming su Naver CHZZK.
Nati nel 1958, i Buil Film Awards sono considerati i più antichi premi cinematografici della Corea del Sud. Dopo la ripresa della manifestazione nel 2008, la cerimonia continua a rappresentare uno degli appuntamenti più importanti per il cinema coreano.
A guidare le nomination di quest’anno è “No Other Choice” di Park Chan-wook, con ben 9 candidature, tra cui Miglior Film, Miglior Regista, Miglior Attore e Attrice Protagonista, Miglior Attore e Attrice Non Protagonista, Fotografia, Musica e Arte/Tecnica.
Segue “HOPE” di Na Hong-jin con 8 candidature, mentre “The World of Love” di Yoon Ga-eun e “The King’s Warden” di Jang Hang-jun ottengono 6 nomination ciascuno.
Tra le sfide più attese c’è quella per il premio come Miglior Attore, che vede competere Park Ji-hoon e Yoo Hae-jin per le loro interpretazioni in “The King’s Warden”. Park Ji-hoon èinoltre candidato come Miglior Nuovo Attore e al premio Star of the Year, puntando quindi a tre riconoscimenti.
Anche Yeom Hye-ran è protagonista di una doppia candidatura: Miglior Attrice per “My Name” e Miglior Attrice Non Protagonista per “No Other Choice”.
Tra i candidati figura inoltre Lee Byung-hun, vincitore del premio come Miglior Attore alla scorsa edizione, nuovamente in gara quest’anno per “No Other Choice”. Hong Kyung-pyo, premiato nel 2025 per la fotografia di “Harbin”, torna invece nella stessa categoria con “HOPE”.
